Father’s Day Makita Giveaway Terms and Conditions

1. Promoter
The promoter is Cairns Hardware, a division of Dahlsens Building Centres Pty Ltd ABN 30 005 032 333 (Promoter).

2. Acceptance of Terms
Information on how to enter and prize details form part of these Terms and Conditions. By participating in this promotion, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

3. Eligibility
Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or over at the time of entry. Employees of the Promoter and its related entities and members of their immediate families, are not eligible to enter. Suppliers and business affiliates of the Promoter and its related entities are also ineligible.

4. Promotion Period
The promotion commences at 6.00am AEST on Friday 14 August 2026 and closes at 11:59pm Sunday 30 August 2026 AEST (Promotion Period). Entries received outside this period will not be accepted.

5. How to Enter
During the Promotion Period, an entrant must comment on a pinned competition post published by a Participating Page and include either:

(a) a photograph of Dad’s most-loved Makita tool; and/or
(b) a comment explaining why it is his favourite makita tool.

Each eligible photograph and/or comment constitutes one entry into the draw for the Participating Page on which it was posted. Entrants may submit multiple entries, provided each entry is substantially different.

6. Entry photo submissions
Each entrant warrants that they own the photograph submitted or have permission from the copyright owner to submit it, and that they have obtained the consent of each identifiable person shown in the photograph. Entries must not infringe any third-party rights. The entrant grants the Promoter a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce, publish and communicate the submitted photograph and accompanying comment for the purposes of administering and promoting the competition.

7. Invalid Entries
Entries that are incomplete, duplicated, illegible, offensive, unlawful, misleading, submitted outside the Promotion Period, generated through automated means or otherwise fail to comply with these Terms and Conditions may be deemed invalid.

8. Prize
There are 13 prizes available, with one prize allocated to each participating page. Each prize consists of two $500 in-store Gift Voucher with a total retail value of $1,000 including GST. The total prize pool is $13,000 including GST. The Prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.

Details: Each prize will be provided as 2 x $500 in-store Gift Vouchers.

Details: One prize will be offered for each participating pages participating. 13 pages/prizes in total.

Details: Total retail value of each prize, including GST: $1,000.00. Total prize pool is $13,000.00 including GST.

9. Draw Details
The winner will be drawn at 10:00am AEST on Monday 31 August 2026, one winner will be selected at random from the valid entries received through each Participating Page. The 13 draws will be conducted at Cairns Hardware, 13–17 Lynch Street, Bungalow QLD 4870, by selection from the Draw Committee. Draw will be undertaken in the order from top to bottom as per ‘participating stores’ list.

10. Winner Notification
The winner will be notified via private message and via a winners post soon after the draw on Monday 31 August 2026. Each winner must collect their Prize from the Participating Store associated with the Participating Page through which the winning entry was submitted. Where collection is not reasonably available, the Promoter may arrange postage to an eligible Australian address at the Promoter’s cost.

11. Verification and Disqualification
A winner must respond to the Promoter’s notification and provide the information reasonably required to verify eligibility within seven days of notification. If a winner cannot be contacted, does not respond within that period, is unable to establish eligibility or declines the Prize, the Promoter may conduct a redraw from the remaining valid entries for the relevant Participating Page.

The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and entrants and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, or engages in conduct that is fraudulent, misleading or otherwise inappropriate.

12. Final Decision
The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

13. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered or sustained in connection with the promotion or acceptance and use of the Prize.

14. Changes to Promotion
If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned, including due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel the promotion, subject to any applicable laws.

15. Promotional Use
Subject to obtaining any further consent required by law, the Promoter may publish a winner’s first name, surname initial, suburb and winning entry for the purposes of announcing and promoting the outcome of the competition.

16. Privacy
By entering the promotion, entrants consent to the Promoter collecting and using their personal information for the purposes of administering the promotion and contacting the winner.

17. Facebook & Instagram Disclaimer
This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook, Instagram or Meta. By entering, each entrant releases Facebook, Instagram and Meta from any liability arising in connection with the promotion, to the extent permitted by law.
