About the Role

We are seeking a positive and energetic team member with experience in timber, plaster and general hardware to join our team. We require someone with a welcoming approach who can be part of a fast paced team providing excellent service to our customers. The role will take a hands-on approach to ensuring tasks are undertaken, including loading customer orders, stock movement, handling and storage, keeping work area maintained in a safe manner, collating and packing customer orders with the ability to assist with counter sales. Our aim is for the centre to deliver, organise and provide our customers with a range of products backed by a high level of customer service. The role will require someone physically fit with the ability to safely lift loads and manually handle goods.


About You

Prior experience working in a small face paced team will be highly regarded. Whilst knowledge of hardware products, timber and plasterboard is required. It is essential that you are willing to learn quickly and have the ability to grasp training. Warehousing and/or transport and logistics experience is advantageous. It is anticipated that you will have a team orientated approach with good communication skills. The below attributes are also required:

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Mareeba Store as the Branch Manager. We are seeking an experienced and passionate retail manager, ideally from a building product or hardware background. This role is a key part of the management team for Cairns Hardware and supportive of our regional customer base. Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, you will be based at the Mareeba store in a go to location for the town. The position will work closely with not only store staff yet the wider Cairns Hardware team to drive sales and profitability. The successful candidate will be committed to the expansion and success of the business by way of strategic development and employee engagement.

Leading by example you will be a passionate and experienced leader. You will be need to be able to set and maintain standards whilst growing your team and the store. Previous experience in branch management is essential whilst industry knowledge and commercial skills will be highly regarded.

  • Understanding the administration of a Quotes and Ordering process to fulfil customer needs
  • Understanding of the construction process and projects to be able to facilitate customer requirements

  • Management and leadership of a medium sized, broadly skilled team
