About the Role

We are seeking a positive and energetic team player to join our Paint Station. Your focus will be in the goods inwards area, which involves accurately checking and recording the receival of stock using a point of sale scanner. It also involves moving and storing goods with the use of safe manual handling techniques. Problem solving will be required, where incorrect or damaged product is received suppliers will be contacted and solutions arranged.  Overall, you will be a personable and professional individual who is able to work alone to achieve results but is also able to positively contribute to the wider team.

About You

Prior experience as a store person or in a warehousing environment is required. It is essential that you are willing to learn, and have the ability to work with minimal supervision. You will be organised with good time management skills, and have a genuine approach to safety with the need to manually handle stock. The below attributes are required:

  • Genuine commitment to high levels of Safety and Customer service
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpret, understand and act on enquiries
  • Computer literate
  • Car licence (manual)
  • Forklift licence (LF)

The following skills are highly advantageous:

  • Knowledge of paint products and accessories
  • Previous experience with Point of Sale

 About the Role

We are seeking a positive and energetic team member to join our Scott Street store. Focus will be on identifying and assessing customer needs, with excellent presentation and active listening skills. This role will see a number of different tasks to do, including counter sales, stock movement and replenishing, housekeeping and general store presentation. You will need the ability to safely manual handle stock.  Our aim is for the store to provide our customers with a range of products backed by a high level of customer service with accurate and relevant advice. The role will require someone with a professional approach who contributes to a team effort.  Weekend work will be required as per a rotating roster.

 About You

Prior experience with hardware products or work within a similar environment is required backed by a customer focus attitude with a drive to deliver a high level of customer service. The role is well suited to someone with confidence who enjoys dealing with people. You must also be willing to contribute positively to a team environment. The below attributes are required:

We are seeking a positive and energetic team member for our Cooktown store. This role suits a keen individual who is willing to learn the basics of a busy and varied retail environment. The role will see a number of different tasks to do, including helping locate product for customers, processing transactions, cash handling, and keeping the sales floor organised and well stocked. We offer support and guidance to the right applicant. Our aim is for the store to deliver, organise and provide our customers with a range of products backed by a high level of customer service.    

About You

It is essential that you are willing to learn quickly and grasp training.  The role is well suited to someone with confidence who enjoys dealing with people.  It also suits somebody with a flexible timetable, as afternoon and weekend work will be required.  The below attributes are also highly advantageous:

 About the Role

Our Roofing centre is a specialised manufacturing division of Cairns Hardware providing Roofing and Guttering solutions for both residential and commercial buildings. Fabricators play a key role in the production and operation of the division taking a hands-on approach delivering customised products to suit customer requirements. The role requires someone with the ability to assess project needs including scope and assembly sequences, who can interpret measurements and instructions ensuring alignment to specifications along with building codes. Day to day duties include various styles of roll forming, maintaining and assessing stock requirements and above all job prioritisation. We require a focused, reliable worker who takes a safety conscious approach towards everything they do. Experience and understanding of light metal fabrication with proficiencies in both the set up and operation of fabrication machines including roll forming is a key requirement of this role.

About You

Prior experience in assembling and/or general fabrications is required from either the same or similar industry. It is just important however that you are willing to learn, engage and work with an experienced team. Whilst predominately fabricating, customers are why we do what we do, you must have ability to converse with our customers and build key relationships. Ability to safely lift and maneuverer long awkward products is essential to ensure we keep our products integrity. The below attributes are also required:
